Sea Container

Did you know that we have a surplus of sea containers? You know the ugly steel boxes where they transport all the things from China and Europe to the US. Because we import way more goods then we export, and because it's to expensive to ship them back empty.

There's an entire design community working on the re-use of sea containers - if you are interested then check out container bay.

Container Store: There's a hand-bag store (www.freitag.ch) which built his flag-ship store out of 17 'recycled' 20' containers. I could not resist, I had to go and see it in person. It looks great! (see more pictures)

The first twelve containers are reserved for the store, 4 of them contain the stairs) and then you can walk up another four containers to reach the top one which is open on the top and you can see over the city.
